If you’re lucky enough to have a garden or able to visit the local farmers market, consider grabbing a bundle of fresh herbs and tying it together with a piece of pretty ribbon or raffia to give as a gift. Your recipient will thank you for the beautiful bouquet and the fragrance it brings into their home, and they’ll think of you when they use it in there next creation.

Here are a few combinations I like to use:

  • Oregano, thyme, and rosemary to be given as a bouquet garni to use in soups and casseroles
  • Chamomile and verbena for a tea making bundle
  • Rinse, trim, and arrange large kale and/or Swiss chard leaves in an inexpensive vase along with a fun recipe you know they will enjoy. Here’s a good Swiss chard and pasta recipe. Your host can display the pretty arrangement on their counter until they are ready to use to make something yummy.

Of course, flowers are always a wonderful gift, but why not try something a little different to show how much you appreciate the recipient?
