- YIELDS | 1 PITCHER OR 6-8 COCKTAILS
- PREP TIME | 5 MINS
- STEEPING TIME | 35 MINS
Seems like an odd combination but it works! The mint cools the “spice” from the bourbon and serrano, and the pear nectar blends it all together in a lush, bright, and flavorful cocktail.
Ingredients
- 2 small or one larger serrano pepper(s), preferably red, seeded and sliced thin, plus 1 pepper per serving for garnish, optional
- 1/3 cup sugar or more to taste
- 4-5 sprigs fresh mint, leaves removed, plus 1 small sprig mint for serving
- 3/4 cups bourbon
- Bottle light white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc
- 2 cups pear nectar
- 2 pears, chopped, saving a few slices for garnish
- Club soda to top off, optional
Instructions
- Muddle together the serrano pepper, sugar and mint. Add the bourbon and stir until the sugar dissolves. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Pour the muddled mixture, the wine, the pear nectar, and the chopped pear into a pitcher, and let sit for 30 minutes minimum to allow the flavors to steep.
- Place a mint sprig horizontally into each glass, add ice to the top, and strain the cocktail over the ice. Garnish with a slice of pear, and/or serrano pepper.
- Top with sparkling water, optional.
