How to Get Crispy Skin & Perfectly Cooked Duck Breast Every Time! 🦆✨Master the art of cooking duck breast with this foolproof method. Achieve golden, crispy skin and juicy, tender meat that will impress every time! Save this for your next dinner upgrade.
Remove the duck from the packaging, rinse, and pat with paper towels until very dry.
Place on a tray large enough to hold the duck breast and that will also fit in the refrigerator
Score the skin with a sharp knife and generously salt the skin. Let’s sit uncovered in the refrigerator for several hours and even overnight. When you’re ready to cook the duck,
heat a pan large enough to hold the duck breast, over medium heat, and place the duck breast skin side down. The fat will slowly render and after about 12 minutes, flip the duck and cook the flesh side for an additional two minutes. This will render a medium rare duck breast depending on your stove top. Place the duck on a cutting board and let rest before carving.
While the duck rests, add. some aromatics like shallots to the fat, along with a cup of good red wine. Let this reduce almost completely and then add 2 cups of your favorite stock. I like to use mushroom stock. Let this also reduce to about half. Taste for seasoning, slice the duck and serve the pan sauce over it. I like to serve this with mashed potatoes to soak up all the good sauce.

How to:
Place equal parts warm water to honey in the original container or a new bottle of jar.
Cover the hole or seal the top with a lid, and shake until the honey and water mix together
If your honey is very hard thick, boil the same amount as water to the crystalized honey. Let the water sit for one minute to cool, pour the water into the jar or bottle of crystallized, honey, cover, and shake vigorously. Let cool and pour into a squeeze bottle.
NOTES
Because of honey‘s natural antibacterial properties, this should keep indefinitely – either on the counter or in the fridge. Always use your own judgement!
I like to use cheffy type squeeze bottles and Store in the cupboard like you would regular honey.
