Tart, sweet, and tangy. Making this cocktail is one of my favorite ways to use up canned cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

  • Half a 14-ounce can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 4 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice, plus slices for garnish
  • Seltzer water, chilled
  • Ice for blending, and large cubes for serving
  • Sugar and lime zest to rim the cocktail glass, optional
  • Limes slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a speed blender, blend the cranberry, gin, lime juice and a hand full of ice until smooth, about 8-10 seconds.
  2. If using optional rimming mixture, moisten the rim of the glasses and dip them in sugar and lime zest.
  3. Add ice cubes to the glasses and pour 1/2 the drink mixture into each glass. Top with seltzer and stir.
  4. Garnish with a slice of lime.

Notes

  • Fresh lime juice is best for this cocktail.
